YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan does not intend on “doing anything” so far with Syunik Regional Governor Suren Khachatryan, a.k.a. Liska, who, in the presence of many people, including MPs, had recently beaten businesswoman Silva Hambardzumyan, in capital Yerevan’s Armenia Marriott Hotel, Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily writes.

“To note, [ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia] RPA did not make a public assessment on Suren Khachatryan’s conduct, saying it will reflect on it once the Special Investigation Service’s [SIS] inquiry comes to an end. They say Serzh Sargsyan has instructed SIS to prolong this story, as much as possible, and, when the sociopolitical interest toward this topic diminishes, to ‘shelve’ the case that was launched,” Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun writes.
