YEREVAN. - Yerevan State Opera & Ballet Theatre needs technical re-equipment, director of the theatre Kamo Hovhannisyan’s said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“It’s not about the building, I mean the stage and its technical capabilities. Nowadays the decors are changed with a touch of a button, while we do it manually. We seem to be in the Stone Age!” Hovhannisyan said.

According to him, the building also needs repair. “But first we must solve the issue of technical re-equipment of the stage,” he stressed, adding that theatre’s partner in repair works is an Austrian-German company.

“We have not signed an agreement so far. It is too early to speak about names or amounts,” he concluded.
