YEREVAN-Yerevan residents continue to use irrigation channels as cleaning places. The director of “Sevan-Hrazdan jrar” Samvel Hovhannisyan informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to Hovhannisyan the channels are cleaned twice a year-during summer and winter.

“Garbage is the main problem of the city. It is difficult and sometimes even impossible to imagine what can be found in the channels. People even manage to throw furniture in the channels.”

During summers another problem appears – grass that turns channel into swamp.
