YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday had a farewell meeting with Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger, Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

Sargsyan highly assessed Ambassador de Luzenberger’s four-year mission in Armenia which, as per the President, was very active and productive.    

And with the President’s decree, Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger was awarded the Mkhitar Gosh Medal for his significant contribution to strengthening and development of Armenia-EU cooperation. And during the meeting, President Sargsyan congratulated Ambassador de Luzenberger, presented him this state award, and expressed  a hope that the Ambassador would continue to be a friend of Armenia.

In his turn, Ambassador de Luzenberger thanked for the continuous support, cooperation, and appreciation of his activities throughout his tenure. He also noted that there have been tangible changes in Armenia and serious reforms are underway in the country, in the recent years, and this is a prevalent view in the EU, too. And according to the Ambassador, these reforms will further consolidate EU-Armenia relations and deepen cooperation.
