Position of Paris towards Turkey’s admission to the EU has not changed and France is one of the countries having most harsh on the issue, reported «Le Nouvel Observateur» with a reference to Associated Press.

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe presented the position of Paris on further expansion of the EU at the Council of Ministers on Wednesday.

“When it comes to Turkey, position of France did not change as of the methods and results of negotiations. It is in compliance with this framework that we will examine the proposals of the commission to revive the relationship with Turkey through concrete steps (convergence of standards, enhances political dialogue, visas, border control and readmission),” reads the report of the Council of Ministers. 

On December 9 European Council will decide on several issues, including Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey and Kosovo.
