Actually, there is no contrast between democracy and security. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, stated this at the Armenian Forum for Democracy on Monday.

"They are trying to create contradictions, but it is clear that the democratic government system is more stable. First, it is stable in terms of expectations, changes happen through elections, and often changes in public perceptions are expressed through elections. I believe that democratic systems are the most stable and safe," said Grigoryan.

According to the secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, their work since 2018 has also been the broadening of the understanding of the concept of security.

Also, the Security Council chief emphasized that democracy has a great role in the protection of sovereignty, in particular, "the confrontation of Armenia, at least in the last four years."

"After the war [in 2020], Armenia was able to withstand, through democracy, the pressures that were on Armenia from the point of view of sovereignty. I am convinced [that] if Armenia did not have a democratic system, it would hardly have been able to withstand that pressure," added the Security Council secretary.
