YEREVAN. – Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian, who arrived in Denmark on an official visit, on Thursday met in Copenhagen with Danish FM Villy Soevndal, during which it was noted that the founding of Armenia’s Embassy in Copenhagen will open a news chapter in Armenian-Danish relations, MFA Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Nalbandian said the founding of this embassy bespeaks our determination to further develop bilateral relations. The interlocutors underscored the need to make bilateral political dialogue more active, expand the legal domain, and stimulate economic collaboration.

The two ministers also exchanged views on Armenia-EU relations and cooperation along the lines of the Eastern Partnership format. Edward Nalbandian and Villy Soevndal also discussed several regional and international matters. The ministers also agreed to hold consultations between the MFAs of the two countries.  

On the same day, Armenia’s FM paid a visit to the Danish Folketing (parliament), where he met with Folketing’s Speaker, Mogens Lykketoft. Nalbandian introduced the main directions and priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy and the country’s approaches toward resolution of regional problems. 

While in Copenhagen, Edward Nalbandian also met with Lars Thuesen, Danish MFA’s State Secretary for Trade and Strategy, with whom Nalbandian discussed the avenues for stimulating trade and economic relations.
