YEREVAN.- Raffi Hovannisian’s statement is not made out of concern, but it rather aims to discredit the political processes, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated, during a briefing with news reporters, commenting on parliamentary opposition’s Heritage Party Chairman Raffi Hovannisian’s recent letter addressed to him. 

“Sadly, this statement was not made out of concern and did not aim to improve our political processes, but it rather just aimed to discredit the started processes. As you know, our objective is to hold very good elections,” Sargsyan noted, adding that changes are made in the Electoral Code, to that end.     

“I believe the purpose of this statement is to just smear and to harm those processes. We will attempt to improve everything, and I believe everyone can become convinced of this,” Serzh Sargsyan said.

To note, in his letter addressed to the President, Raffi Hovannisian had demanded that certain steps be taken to guarantee the holding of free and fair elections in Armenia.
