YEREVAN.- Religious activists must make their contribution to peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict, said head of Caucasus Muslims Allahshukur Pashazade.
He expressed support for the efforts of leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states and presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
However, Pashazade expressed regret that the UN resolution had not been implemented so far and the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group yielded no real results. The head of Caucasus Muslims deems it is necessary to continue the efforts adding that religious leaders should also make their contribution.
In this context Allahshukur Pashazade stressed importance of trilateral meetings with Armenian Catholicos Karekin II held under patronage of Russian Patriarch Kirill I. According to him, such meetings were not effective, pointing out exchange of captives, prevention of turning the conflict into an inter-confessional one.
