YEREVAN. – Starting from January 1, 2013, all medicine in Armenia will be sold with Armenian-translated prescriptions, Health Ministry’s Chief of Staff Suren Krmoyan stated during a press conference, on Tuesday.   

This proposal was made by the Hayastan (Armenia) Youth Foundation, whose coordinator, Karen Avagyan, said the medication being imported to Armenia usually lacks Armenian-language inscriptions and prescriptions, and this brings forth the question of consumers’ rights. And in some cases, these inscriptions and prescriptions are in one language only, either in English or in Russian, which likewise is a problem.
