YEREVAN.- Incumbent Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Samvel Nikoyan intends to lift restrictions on journalists’ entrance to the National Assembly.
“We need to revise the time limits for journalists’ entrance to the parliament. We do this not to please somebody but to allow the journalists attend parliament - our permanent workplace - and freely carry out their work,” Nikoyan said speaking in the parliament on Monday.
Prior to 2009 the journalists could enter the parliament on any weekday. Then, access was limited to the days of meetings and events. Entrance for regional reporters was closed.
“Journalists will freely enter parliament from Monday to Friday,” said Nikoyan.
