VILNIUS.- OSCE must focus on the settlement of the frozen conflicts, organization’s Chairperson-in-Office Audronius Ažubalis told reporters on Monday.

He welcomed the fact that negotiations on conflict settlement in Transnistria continue after a 6-year break, noting the importance of the meeting held last week in the 5 +2 format, Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports.

According to him, it shows that patience is justified. The result achieved by the efforts of many people laid the foundation for moving forward. Once Lithuania assumed chairmanship in the OSCE it was suggested that even an inch towards settlement is a success.

“I think we have achieved that,” he said. Speaking about the forthcoming negotiations within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council, Ažubalis expressed opinion that the talks will be tensed. At the same time, he refrained from making any predictions.
