YEREVAN. – Lebanon’s authorities are proud of Armenian-origin Lebanese people’s special contribution, Lebanon’s President Michel Suleiman stated during Friday’s joint press conference with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
He also noted that during his meeting with President Sargsyan, they stressed the bilateral need for cooperation and coordination, and the necessity to fight against the threat of international terrorism.
Lebanon’s President also expressed confidence that, as Armenians celebrate the 20th anniversary of independence, Lebanon stands alongside Armenia and helps it in state-building. “During the meeting with Armenia’s President, I noted that Lebanon underscores Armenia’s stability and the peaceful resolution of those problems—specifically the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict—which obstruct the development of normal relations with neighboring countries. This region must become a bridge for uniting civilizations, and not a dividing line between them,” the Lebanese President maintained.
