YEREVAN. - Political relations between Armenia and Lebanon are on the highest level. It is proved by the mutual visits and active contacts, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said at a joint press conference on Friday with his Lebanese counterpart.
“I stressed Lebanon’s role as a reliable partner not only in the region but also in the global context, as well as necessity to secure continuous political dialogue with the state,” the President said.
Armenia restated its readiness to continue tense relations with Lebanon in political, trade-economic, cultural-educational and other spheres, which are of mutual interest.
“Development of multi-sided relations is supported by signing three dozens of documents, which will be added by another seven documents. Special importance is paid to the documents regulating economic relations,” Sargsyan stated.
According to him, Armenia has recently registered increase in investments, and Lebanon is the fifth largest investor.
“During the talks we touched upon establishing closer business relations. I believe that Armenian-Lebanese business association established in May will be a give new impetus to the development of trade-economic relations between the two states,” Sargsyan concluded.
