The United States rejected Thursday's decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense chief Yoav Galant, a White House National Security Council spokesman said, Reuters reported.

“The United States fundamentally rejects the courts' decision to issue arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials. We remain deeply concerned about the prosecutor's rush to obtain arrest warrants and the troubling procedural errors that led to this decision,” the White House spokesman said, adding that the U.S. was discussing next steps with its partners.

Earlier, the Netherlands, France and EU diplomatic chief Josep Borrell reacted to the issuance of the ICC arrest warrant against Netanyahu.

The Netherlands said it was ready to act in accordance with the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, if necessary.

France, for its part, said that Paris' reaction to the International Criminal Court's (ICC) arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be in accordance with the court's statute.

According to the EU diplomatic chief, the warrants issued by the Court are not political in nature and the court's decision should be respected and implemented.
