YEREVAN. – Armenia’s senior officials are recently showing activeness in social networking. And National Assembly’s newly appointed Speaker, Samvel Nikoyan, also has a Facebook account, as of today. And he firstly “liked” the Facebook accounts of his political party and of PM Tigran Sargsyan, Yerkir daily writes.   

“Numerous well-known [Armenian] officials also have accounts in this network, but it is unexplainable as to why they think about registering into social networks only after assuming an office. Perhaps they want to show that they are in tune with the IT advancement. It is also not known whether they [themselves], or ‘authorized’ persons control these accounts. But in all probability, they [themselves] respond to the readers, since when responding they frequently cannot differentiate between everyday colloquial slang language and literary Armenian,” Yerkir writes.
