I don't remember, I have to open, look at the numbers. Chairman of the Statistical Committee of Armenia, Stepan Mnatsakanyan, told this to reporters Thursday—and regarding opposition MP Levon Kocharyan's assertion that there was more immigration than emigration in Armenia during the tenure of his father, former president Robert Kocharyan.

"In the conditions of these large flows of information, it is not possible to remember things from a long time ago," said Mnatsakanyan, remembering that he has a document with which he can answer.

Accordingly, the balance of migration in 2001 was -15,100 people, and with the sect system—that is, border crossings—it was - 22,000. In other words, more people left than returned.

According to preliminary data, the migration balance was +41,400 in 2023. This is due to the fact that it includes the Armenians who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Starting from 1999 to 2023, the migration balance was 1,066,000, and with border movements—1,015,500. The difference is that in the initial section, the border electronic system was not yet formed; they were only the arrival and departure indicators by air. In 2018, the migration balance was minus 18,200, whereas with the border electronic system - plus 15,300."
