Archbishop of Paris Laurent Ulrich reopened the Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris on Saturday, symbolically knocking three times on its doors and entering the 12th-century landmark that was destroyed by fire in 2019, France 24 reported.

Dressed in a new designer vestment and holding a staff carved from one of the roof beams that survived the fire, Ulrich ordered the cathedral to “open its doors” before joining hundreds of important people inside.

The opening ceremony of the historic cathedral, which suffered a devastating fire 5 years ago, was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, former and current French politicians, as well as invited leaders from many countries - US President-elect Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, UK Crown Prince William and many other dignitaries.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, along with his wife Anna Hakobyan, also arrived at the Notre Dame opening ceremony.
