The Armenian Cause office in France demands an explanation for the declaration by OSCE Minsk Group’s French Co-Chair Bernard Fassier, the organization informed Armenian News-NEWS.am, with a statement.   

“The conflict of Azerbaijan and Armenia is a forgotten conflict,” Fassier said. “Of course, I understand Azerbaijan’s sufferings; this country’s territories were occupied. As a Frenchman, I understand very well what occupation means.”

“These declarations show Fassier’s biased stance, despite his role as a Karabakh mediator,” Armenian Cause’s statement reads. “That is a reprehensible declaration, and, furthermore, French MFA’s activities for the past two months need a clear explanation.”

According to Armenian Cause’s office in France, in the international arena the French MFA always manifests an unjustified benign demeanor toward Turkey, and this includes the matter of a historian’s commission to study the history of the Armenian Genocide.
