Ukraine has a laser weapon called Trizub, which can hit air targets at an altitude of more than 2 kilometers, said Colonel Vadym Sukharevsky, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Today it can be said that Ukraine has become, if I am not mistaken, the fifth country in the world that has laser weapons. At the moment, we are already able to shoot down planes—with its help—at an altitude of more than 2 kilometers," Sukharevsky said, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The colonel noted that the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine are working to increase and expand the capacity of these weapons.

"This is a real existing and working [weapons’] complex," he added.
