Taiwan's armed forces on Monday reported seven Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) planes and seven Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) ships approaching the island, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense informed.

"7 PLA aircraft, 7 PLAN vessels and 1 official ship operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 6 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s southwestern and eastern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded accordingly," reads the respective statement on X.

Taiwan has been governed by its own administration since 1949. Beijing, however, considers Taiwan one of China's provinces.
