Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has confirmed the signing of an agreement between Israel, the Palestinian Hamas movement, the United States, and Qatar on the release of hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, reports The Jerusalem Post.

According to the respective statement, a meeting of the cabinet of security ministers will be called to sign the agreement, which will be followed by a meeting of the government. The respective voting will take place on Saturday.

Due to the postponement of the voting, however, the release of the first three hostages within the framework of the aforesaid deal will be put off until January 20. The delay was due to the disagreements that arose at the end of the negotiations with Hamas.

The Israeli Walla news portal reports that Netanyahu was informed that on Thursday evening, the negotiating team in Doha officially signed an agreement on the release of hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
