Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Thursday that his government would reciprocate if U.S. President Donald Trump decides to impose tariffs on Latin America's largest economy, Reuters reported.
“It's very simple: if he taxes Brazilian goods, it will be reciprocal,” Lula told a news conference in Brazil.
He added that he wanted there to be mutual respect between him and Trump as two democratically elected leaders.
