The passing of a law on Armenia’s accession to the European Union (EU) does not in itself mean Armenia’s membership in the EU. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during his press conference Friday.

“This means that there are many citizens in Armenia who believe that the EU is a better option than the EAEU [i.e. the Eurasian Economic Union]. This is not about EU membership, it is a political declaration that must be followed,” Pashinyan explained.
