Syrian security forces have sent additional reinforcements to Jableh, while clashes continue in several areas of this city on the Syrian coast, Al Arabiya reports.

Syrian security forces announced on Friday that they had launched a large-scale operation to clear the remnants of the former regime in Latakia and Tartus Governorates.

Syrian troops have taken control of the centers of Tartus and Latakia, and are preparing to enter the countryside.

Clashes are still ongoing in several areas of Jableh.

The attacks and ambushes by ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s supporters have been coordinated and planned, and the current security operation against Assad supporters is the largest in Syria.

Additionally, fierce clashes took place between Syrian army forces and Assad loyalists from Thursday to Friday following an attack on an army-linked convoy on the Aleppo-Latakia motorway.
