The authorities of Aleppo Governorate of Syria on Monday visited the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo, the consulate's press service reports.

After a mutual introductory conversation, Consul General of Armenia in Aleppo Ara Avetisyan touched upon the Armenian-Arab historical ties, the traditional warm relations between the Armenian and Syrian peoples, which can serve as a classic example of interethnic friendship and be useful in restoring tolerance, as well as serving and dispelling interethnic hostility in all corners of the world.

The guests expressed their full agreement on this matter, adding that they have great respect and admiration for the Armenian citizens of Syria and Armenia, and this attitude will be continuous.

The Consul General of Armenia presented the wide scope of cooperation in all domains that have traditionally existed between Armenia and Syria, adding that Armenia is always ready to support and cooperate with the authorities elected by the friendly people of Syria. 

The Consul General briefed the guests on the recent visit by Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan to Damascus and the process of implementing the agreements reached during that visit. He presented his vision of cooperation to the guests, also expecting their wishes and remarks in this regard.

In turn, the deputy governor of Aleppo expressed their readiness to provide all support to the work of the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo.

The parties agreed to be in constant contact with each other.
