"The claim that 'the parliament is being wiretapped, we are all being wiretapped' is not true. According to Article 135 of the Criminal Procedure Code [of Turkey], wiretapping of communications can only be carried out by a court decision within the framework of crimes listed in the catalog ‘on persons under investigation or prosecution,’" reads the statement from the center—under the Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications—for combating disinformation.
