YEREVAN.- Armenia’s archives are open for everyone, including Turkish officials, every day except for Sunday, said head of Armenian Genocide Museum Hayk Demoyan.
His words came in response to remark by Turkish Minister for EU Affairs Egemen Bagis. The official said that Turkey is not afraid of its history and is ready to start discussions for which Armenia should open archives. He also called on other states to open archives regardless of their position on the issue.
“All world archives containing documents regarding the 1915 Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire are presently open. The exception is Turkey’s military archive which is also closed for Turkish citizens,” Demoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
