YEREVAN. – According to the news being circulated, Armenia’s virtually “permanent” MP, businessman Levon Sargsyan (a.k.a. Lyov of the flour mill) honestly said to his associates: “Dear brothers, I don’t want to become an MP either by the majority [election system], or, what do they call it? United, jointly-united list [i.e., proportional election list]? It’s better to deal with our business activities and follow the example of the big brothers, instead of going and putting our painless heads under pain. It’s better that people, who can write a normal law, enter the [National Assembly] NA instead of us,” Iravunk newspaper writes.       

“We wanted to ask the dear MP for a comment on whether these conversations are true, whether Levon Sargsyan is really tired of the MP’s busy and concerned work. But a youth answered his cellular phone and informed: ‘Mr. Sargsyan is out of town. Call [back] in about fifteen days,’” Iravunk writes.
