French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe called on Turkey to remain calm after the Senate adopted late on Monday a bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial.

In an interview with Canal+ channel, Juppe said France and Turkey need good relations expressing confidence they would pass this phase and build constructive relations, Le Monde reports.   

He stressed that thereHe are good economic and trade ties between the states expressing hope that reality will prevail over emotions.
