U.S. Vice President Jay Day Vance has traveled to Israel today as part of efforts to maintain a fragile ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, NBC News reports.
Vance joined Trump’s Middle East special representatives, Steve Whitkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Whitkoff and Kushner met yesterday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a senior White House official told NBC News.
Israel announced that yesterday it began “restoring the ceasefire maintenance regime” after strikes on Gaza, claiming that Hamas had violated the ceasefire by attacking Israeli soldiers, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers.
