In 2026, it is planned to allocate 762 million drams to the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs attached to the Prime Minister of Armenia. Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan announced this during the debates on the 2026 state budget draft of Armenia at the joint meeting of the standing committees of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
The minister added that this amount is 82 million drams less than the figures for 2025.
Also, it is planned to allocate 420 billion 224 million drams to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia. “That is 57 billion 560 million drams more than the figures for 2025,” Hovhannisyan added. Thus, the increase in funding for the given sector will amount to around 16 percent.
