Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: (…) the authorities will continue, in an expedited manner, to implement [their] pre-election populist draft regarding reducing the duration of military service from 2 years to 1.5 years.
The draft has already been sent to parliament and will be discussed during the upcoming four-day session. However, the authorities will not stop there—the ruling force members intend to come up with other similar crowd-pleasing initiatives in the coming months.
For example, we were told that they are also discussing the matter of counting the years of mandatory military service as work experience, and that and it will also be submitted—in the form of a draft—to parliament for adoption.
