The Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: In response to the criticisms of the RA’s third president Serzh Sargsyan, [PM Nikol] Pashinyan promised to publicize the negotiation documents by the end of the year, which are already “being scanned,” and at the same time tried to blackmail: “Also, I’ll include a letter written by you in it, so you don’t think I’m sparing you.” (...).
During the briefing given [to reporters] yesterday in the NA [i.e. the national Assembly], we asked Pashinyan what letter it is about. He didn't want to open the brackets, only said that the letter was not addressed to him but to the leader of another country, and that he has now instructed to start a “declassification process,” and the letter will definitely be publicized together with the package of negotiation documents.
According to certain information, the letter in question was addressed to the president of the RF [i.e. the Russian Federation], which [then Armenia’s president] Serzh Sargsyan wrote in 2016, during the four-day April war.
According to fragmentary information, in that letter Serzh Sargsyan is expecting military support from the RF, noting that our military balance had been disrupted.
However, those in the opposing camp are confident that not only the third, but all presidents of the RA, for the sake of the army and for the sake of Armenia, have been in correspondence of similar content with the leaders of various states. By the way, Pashinyan said also why he has not publicized the package of negotiation documents until now, which former presidents keep suggesting. He said that the end of the year [to publicize them] was not chosen by chance; in his opinion, he could do this only after the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group.
