YEREVAN. – In 2011, Armenia’s population increased by 15,417, or 0.47 percent. Also, 23,160 boys and 20,287 girls were born in the country, the National Statistical Service informs.     

Furthermore, 28,030 people—whose 14,650 were men—died in Armenia in the year past.   

In 2010, the country’s birth rate was 1,400 more, with 44,825—whose 23,969 were boys, and 20,856 were girls. And the number of deaths was 27,921—whose 14, 593 were men, and 13,328 were women.

In 2011, 514 children—up to the age of one—died, against 512 in 2010. And 293 baby boys died in 2011, against 311 in 2010, whereas 221 baby girls died in 2011, against 201 in 2010.   

In 2010-2011, marriages increased from 5.5 to 6.0 per mil, and divorce cases grew from 0.9 to 1.0 per mil.
