Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: Visits to [imprisoned] Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, the Primate of the Diocese of Aragatsotn [of the Armenian Apostolic Church], the nephew of the Catholicos [of All Armenians, Karekin II], are still prohibited; only his mother can visit him.

Other relatives, NA [i.e. National Assembly] members are prohibited, since investigative body understands a very narrow circle of people by saying family. For example, Narek Karapetyan is prohibited from visiting [his imprisoned uncle, Russian Armenian businessman and philanthropist] Samvel Karapetyan, because “a nephew is not family.”

The visits of Archbishop Arshak [Khachatryan, Chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin], who has been under arrest since December 5, are also closed. Only his brother, Father Hakob, a spiritual servant of the Araratian [Pontifical] Diocese, and his elderly mother can visit him.

Visits are open for Archbishop Bagrat [Galstanyan, Primate of the Diocese of Tavush]; the investigative body has permitted [them], and for Archbishop Mikael [Ajapahian, Primate of the Diocese of Shirak], against whom there is already a first-instance verdict, and they have no right to prohibit visits. Let us note that the archbishops are [being held] in various penitentiary institutions: (...); Archbishop Mikael is currently in the Izmirlian Medical Center, preparing for surgery.
