Australia has revoked visas for the first time for inciting racial hatred and displaying Nazi symbols, Minister for Home Affairs Tony Burke has announced.

A 43-year-old UK citizen will have his visa revoked because he espouses a pro-Nazi ideology based on hatred of the Jewish community, and then he will be deported from Australia, the Minister for Home Affairs has said.

Almost everyone who comes to Australia is a good person and a welcome guest. But someone who comes to Australia to incite hatred should leave, Burke told ABC.

Australian police have arrested a UK national after finding that he used two X accounts to post content that violated Australian federal laws.

He was charged with displaying banned Nazi symbols, posting threats, and harassing members of the Jewish community online.

Laws in this regard have been tightened in Australia after the December 14 terrorist attack on Sydney's famous Bondi Beach.
