The Venezuelan government is subject to its people and ignores the orders of foreign forces, Venezuelan acting president Delcy Rodriguez said on the air of Venezolana de Television channel.
"The Venezuelan government obeys the people, we do not obey the orders of external factors, the Venezuelan people do not accept the orders of any foreign force," Rodriguez said.
She called the recent statements of US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent "inappropriate and offensive." Bessent had said that the US would govern Venezuela, oversee the sale of its oil and other resources and, if necessary, "free and fair elections" shall be held in Venezuela.
