The United States plans to reduce its military presence in Europe. Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced this after talks with US Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge Colby on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Polish media report.

“The US presence in Europe will remain, but in a more limited, more strategically oriented format. And we, the Europeans, must make our contribution in the form of ground forces,” Sikorski said.

“Poland and other [European] countries must do this in order to fulfill their commitments made at NATO summits,” the Polish official added.
