The statement which the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia had recently released, and according to which Governor Davit Kirkitadze of Georgia’s Kvemo Kartli Region had attended the events devoted to the Khojaly incident, is untrue.    

We have ascertained from our diplomatic sources that the Kvemo Kartli Region had in no way participated in such events which the Azerbaijanis had organized in Georgia, and Davit Kirkitadze was not even in the country at the time.  

Our source close to the Georgian authorities also noted that, despite Azerbaijani claims, representatives from neither the Science Academy of Georgia nor the country’s MFA attended these events.
