YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition will hardly run for the upcoming parliamentary elections as a consolidated bloc, expert Garik Keryan said at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to him, Armenia registered both success and failures during the years of independence. Among achievements the expert mentioned that Armenia did not choose totalitarianism, like Azerbaijan or Turkmenistan, instead established a democratic society and plurality of parties. In the meantime, elections held in the state may be characterized as free, but not fair.

“Society does not believe the elections results will be fair,” he said adding that during the 2007 parliamentary elections there were on the one hand pro-governmental forces, on the other -scattered opposition. The same situation may be repeated this time as well.
