YEREVAN. – When a 25-year-old woman enters into a sexual relationship with a 70-year-old man, the society does not call her a gerontophile (a person who has a sexual preference for the elderly), but when a 25-year-old man has a sexual intercourse with a 70-year-old woman, he is immediately labeled, Yerkir daily writes.  

“In an interview with Yerkir, lawyer Davit Tumasyan noted that there are social stereotypes that gerontophiles are men. ‘There are also pedophile women who sexually harass young boys. There was a case in Armenia, when a woman was sentenced for performing violent actions of sexual nature against a neighbor’s child,’” Yerkir writes.
