STEPANAKERT. – Azerbaijan has not moved the units participating in the recent military drills from the frontline to the initial positions, spokesperson for the Artsakh president Davit Babayan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
His remark came in a request to comment reports about Azerbaijan’s mobilization of troops on the line of contact.
Davit Babayan added that Azerbaijan continues doing so for many years, but it was clearly visible in spring 2016.
“The situation is the same, the units participating in the military exercises were not moved to the initial positions. We see this and take a note,” he said.
Babayan added that adversary’s calculations on creating “panic” are in vain, as the Artsakh Defense Army is defending the border of Artsakh confidently.
Azerbaijan held large-scale operational-tactical exercises with participation of more than 20 thousand troops, over 200 tanks and over 120 artillery pieces from September 17 to 22.
