YEREVAN. – The U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent will visit Armenia this month to build on the US strong ties with Armenia, the U.S. embassy in Yerevan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“We can confirm that George Kent, the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) in the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, will visit Armenia this month to build on the United States’ strong ties with Armenia.

DAS Kent is a senior State Department official and an expert on European and Central Asian policy. He is the senior-most State Department official responsible for policy towards the Caucasus and Eastern Europe and the day-to-day operations of U.S. Embassies in this region. He will discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral importance with representatives of the Armenian government, civil society, and business community,” the statement said.
