YEREVAN. – Erik Aleksanyan, the lawyer former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan of Armenia, motioned to court end the criminal proceedings against his client, and on the grounds of the absence of corpus delicti.
The lawyer recalled the precedents for the application of Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code, when the defendants were acquitted on the ground that the act in question was committed before the article itself appeared.
Speaking about this article in general, the lawyer noted that over the past 1.5 years there has been a great deal of information which this article applied to, including regarding the blocking of courts.
