YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: Armenia has imported a large amount of tomatoes, cucumbers from Turkey.

Zhoghovurd daily was informed by the RA State Revenue Committee that 1 million 732 thousand 400 tons of tomatoes entered Armenia from Turkey last year, and in 2019, Armenia had imported 2 million 893 thousand 100 tons.

Zhoghovurd daily was informed that a certain amount of tomatoes was imported from Iran, too (…). Besides, cucumbers (…) were also imported from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the RA last year.

Zhoghovurd daily found out that apricots were imported to Armenia not only from Iran, Georgia, but also from Turkey.

Let us note that the import of tomatoes and cucumbers of Turkish and Iranian origin is a big blow to local production. As imported tomatoes and cucumbers are sold at a rather cheap price in the market and supermarkets, Armenian producers suffer.
