Narine Martirosyan, the third candidate on the electoral list of Sovereign Armenia Party, was apprehended after voting and exiting polling station #6/31, the political party’s candidate for Prime Minister Davit Sanasaryan reported.

According to Sanasaryan, policemen dressed in civilian clothes approached Mrs. Martirosyan, asked if she was Narine Martirosyan, and after receiving an affirmative response, they apprehended her and took her to the local police station.

“A little while ago, I contacted Mrs. Martirosyan, who stated that the police had apologized for the incident. We condemn such non-professional practice of the law-enforcement authorities. The police are apprehending civilized citizens and candidates instead of criminals,” Sanasaryan said.
