Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia on Saturday had a telephonic conversation with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Office of the Prime Minister.

Pashinyan informed the Russian President about the results of Wednesday’s meeting in Brussels with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan—and mediated by President Charles Michel of the European Council.

The interlocutors attached importance to the agreements on signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan and launching delimitation works. The Russian President expressed readiness to fully support these processes.

Reference was made to the intrusion of Azerbaijani military units into the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed the expectation of the Armenian side that the Russian peacekeepers take concrete measures to ensure the withdrawal of the invading Azerbaijani units.

The Armenian PM and the Russian President touched also upon economic cooperation between the two countries, and agreed that this matter will be discussed in detail during Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to Russia on April 19.
