French Senator Valerie Boyer has expressed deep concern over Azerbaijan's actions in Artsakh, asserting that the country’s intentions extend beyond that conflict and that Azerbaijan will not limit itself to the massacre of Armenians in Artsakh.
According to Senator Boyer, Armenia has faced multiple attacks on its territory by Azerbaijan, with the support of Turkey. In her opinion, it is of utmost importance that France, in collaboration with UN forces, takes swift action to safeguard the Armenian population and protect their territorial integrity.
She further added, "Let's not harbor any illusions. Azerbaijan will not limit itself to the massacre of Armenians in Artsakh. It is perplexing to witness the international community's mobilization for Ukraine while seemingly abandoning the Armenians. We are once again silently witnessing ethnic cleansings."
Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that Azerbaijan on Tuesday launched a large-scale attack on Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). As a result, more than 200 people were killed and 400 others were wounded. In Azerbaijan, the latter’s actions to destroy the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh were called "local antiterrorist measure."
Based on the difficult situation on the front, the Artsakh authorities on Wednesday accepted the proposal of the Russian peacekeepers regarding the cessation of fire. Accordingly, an agreement was reached on the complete cessation of hostilities as of 1pm, September 20.
