
About 20% of school-aged children (4,145) forcibly displaced from Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh already go to schools in Armenia, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, press secretary of the RA Prime Minister, said during a press conference on Wednesday.
“Currently, 7,996 children aged 0-5 years, 21,266 children aged 6-19 years from Nagorno-Karabakh have already been registered in Armenia, 4,145 children are already included in various educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia,” she said, adding that it makes about 20% of school-aged children from Nagorno-Karabakh.
Their distribution in schools in Armenia is as follows: Syunik province: 285, Vayots Dzor: 112, Gegharkunik province: 179, Ararat province: 758, Kotayk province: 800, Aragatsotn province: 223, Armavir province: 410, Shirak province: 177, Lori province: 185, Tavush province: 161 and Yerevan: 850 children.
More than 100,000 people left Karabakh because of Azerbaijan’s military aggression on September 19.
